Major Arcana · Card XVI
The Tower is struck by lightning. Its crown falls. Figures leap from its windows into the dark below. Of all the cards in the tarot, this one carries the most visceral charge — the sudden, unavoidable collapse of something that was built on a foundation that could not hold. And yet the lightning comes from heaven. The destruction is not arbitrary; it is the universe clearing what needed to go.
In a reading, The Tower signals sudden disruption — a revelation, a collapse, an upheaval that cannot be predicted or controlled. It is rarely comfortable. But The Tower's promise is this: what was truly solid will remain. What falls was always going to fall, and its falling, however violent, clears the ground for something built on truth rather than illusion. The question is not whether the tower will fall — but what you choose to build next.
